 Submissions of abstracts are welcome in all areas of foreign language studies, for example:
 
• Asian Languages & Literatures
• Classical Languages & Literatures
• Comparative Literature
• Cultural Studies
• English as a Second/Foreign Language
• Film Studies

• Foreign Languages and Business/Professions

• Foreign Languages across the Curriculum
• French Language & Literature
• German Language & Literature
• Honors Courses in Foreign Languages
• Italian Language & Literature
• Linguistics (general and language-specific)
• Literary Criticism
• Literature and the Arts
• Pedagogy
• Portuguese Language & Luso-Brazilian Literature
• Russian Language & Literature
Second Language Acquisition
• Spanish & Spanish-American Language & Literature
• Special Programs (e.g. Study Abroad, Honors Courses)
• Technology in Foreign Language Learning
• Translation/Interpreting Studies

Papers may be presented in the language with which the presenter and his/her audience feel most comfortable; however, they are limited to no more than 20 minutes (about 9-10 double-spaced pages). Anyone interested in presenting an original paper should submit an abstract by email attachment to the MIFLC President’s email address, given below. Be sure to include your regular mailing address and other contact information, and include keywords (e.g., 19th century Spanish Peninsular) at the top of the abstract, to help us organize sessions thematically. And we definitely welcome preorganized sessions! It should be understood, however, that those who submit an abstract do intend to present at the conference if their proposal is accepted.
